FAQ

1. What on earth is Freeway Tragedy?

Freeway Tragedy is a one man creative bureau. You can read more about it here.

The name itself is of course word-play. In this day and age where everything is up for grabs and all has been overcommercialized and plasticized quite a few people get fed up with this Free Way Tragedy. There is always a testimony and I want to pass it forward. (Oh, and needless to say the expression itself is borrowed from a pop song.)

2. What equipment do you use?

That really depends on the job. Mostly I use stuff that is cheap, light and can take a beating. Preferably Apple and Canon. The basic rule is that you really don’t have to spend a lot of money to be creative.

3. Can I use any of the photo’s on this site?

The short answer is “Yes”! If it is for commercial purposes then I’m sure you’d like to pay some kind of tribute anyway. If it is for charity or humanitarian purposes then I will most likely not charge anything. Either way, send me an e-mail and we will work it out.

4. What kind of activism and humanitarian aid is Freeway Tragedy involved with?

Apart form trying to call atention to important issues through the work itself Freeway Tragedy supports a handful of organizations, primarily with monetary support. This year (2010) 15% of all proceeds go to the following organizations:

Free the West Memphis Three
In 1993 three teenagers were tried and convicted of the murders of three children in West Memphis, Arkansas (USA). The West Memphis Three Support Fund suggests the conviction lacked any technical evidence and that the trial itself was one of satanic panic and extreme prejudice towards teenage culture.

The Edwin Foundation
Founded in 2002 by Eva and Tomas Ström The Edwin Foundation is active in the former Soviet Union (mainly Ukraine, Belarus and Moldavia) aiding mentally disabled children and their families. If you are tired of monstruos aid organizations where the better part of donations is eaten up by administration then this is for you. The real deal – hand to hand, eye to eye and heart to heart.

New Dimensions Media
“Changing the World, one broadcast at a time.” The purpose of New Dimensions Radio is to deliver life-affirming, socially and spiritually relevant information, practical knowledge and perennial wisdom through the voices and visions of those who are asking new questions and are looking at the world in positive and inspiring ways.

5. Can you help me? Can I help you?

Yes and yes. I believe very much in the idea of people helping out. We are all in different places in life and on this planet. Each individual has got a bunch of qualities that the other lack etc. Combining these qualities adds to the quality of life itself.

If you notice I have a certain advantage in one area and you feel you need help there – just go ahead and ask. If you realise I am totaly incompetent in another area and feel like helping out – please do so.
